Martin Soderberg

PARTNER

Martin (Managing Partner and member of IC) has more than 20 years of experience in Africa and has done work in more than 30 countries across the continent. He has worked with Private Equity, Venture Capital and other investment projects in various leadership roles. Martin has his degree in Economics from the Gothenburg School of Economics in Sweden.

Bryan Turner

PARTNER

Bryan is a qualified CFA, CGMA and CAIA with 17 years of Financial Services experience. During his banking career in London, Bryan developed skills in portfolio management, valuation, risk management and structuring.

Nyaradzo Nyimo

PRINCIPAL

NNyaradzo is a CFA charterholder and has a BSC Honours in Economics from the University of Zimbabwe. She has over 15 years of experience in the fields of corporate finance, strategy, and private equity across multiple verticals in the region. Prior to joining Spear Capital, Nyaradzo was a project consultant at one of the leading retail companies in Zimbabwe. She previously worked at AIM-listed Cambria Africa Limited and was an Advisory Manager at KPMG in Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Charles Mutungura

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Charles is a qualified Chartered Accountant who completed his articles at KPMG Zimbabwe, where he was exposed to the financial services, agro-processing, and manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining Spear Capital, he was an investment analyst at a southern Africa-focused private equity firm. Charles is based in Harare.

Buyani Ndlovu

ASSOCIATE

Buyani is a qualified Chartered Accountant who previously held positions with Schweppes and Deloitte in Zimbabwe, gaining exposure within the sustainability arena. She has extensive experience in the financial services and manufacturing sectors. Her focus at Spear is on ESG, strengthening fund reporting, and ensuring the impact of Spear Capital’s investments.

Jessica Blake

ASSOCIATE

Jessica is a CFA charterholder with a BSc degree in Economics from Rhodes University. She has a decade of experience working as an Equity Analyst focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa and global companies, predominantly in the FMCG sector. 

Francisca Chinyamakobvu

ANALYST

Francisca is a CFA charterholder with a BCom in Financial Management Sciences from the University of Pretoria. Before joining Spear Capital, she was a supervisor for EY’s Strategy and Transactions team where she advised on clients in the manufacturing, banking, insurance, agriculture and life assurance sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. Prior to that, she was the Finance Manager at the Harare Receivables Exchange — a local trade finance company. 

Brondwyn Douglas

ESG Principal

Brondwyn is an ESG specialist with 18 years of industry experience. Her principal focus over the last 10 years has been on ESG due diligence, developing sustainability management systems, crafting sustainability strategies, and reporting. She has worked extensively in supporting organisations and their portfolio companies to implement systems and processes that meet investor requirements and adhere to IFC performance standards. 

Tapiwa Chiwaridzo

Tapiwa holds a BEng degree in Automotive Engineering and an MSc in Economics & Finance. He has 7-years of experience in the financial industry having worked in both Audit and Consulting & Advisory at Deloitte Zimbabwe as well as a couple of years at a local private equity firm.   Tapiwa has previously worked with us when we first opened the Harare office 5 years ago. He brings unique insight to the team from his varied academic and professional background.

Naomi P Murapa

Finance and ESG

Naomi is a Chartered Accountant and seasoned finance professional with experience in various industries including asset management and private equity. Her role as Finance and ESG associate will assist the Spear Capital team in assisting portfolio companies to strengthen ESG requirements of portfolio companies and fund reporting.
